Self-Organized Complexity & Self-Assembled Materials GROUP
In our group we have the experimental facilities common to a standard equipped soft-matter laboratory (polarization microscope, Brewster angle microscope, AFM, etc) and computer facilities for control and numerical simulation.GROUP LEADER

RESEARCH INTERESTS
We are interested in different phenomena of self-organization, mainly dynamic aspects, in complex systems operating under nonequilibrium conditions. The two main areas are respectively Soft Matter and Biophysics. In the first area out interests comprise the study of Langmuir monolayers, liquid crystals and magnetic coloids. In a biophysical context, our research encompass from the analysis of the structure and dynamical properties of cellular membranes, to cellular proliferation and tissue organization, quorum sensing in bacterial colonies and biological networks.
